The balance is what you will need to provide for when you retire. Note that we
have projected your income needs to be 75% of your last pre-retirement salary.
Further, we have assumed that our Social Security and Company benefits
will still be available for our retirement.
YOU
NEED TO PLAN TODAY FOR YOUR TOMORROW!!!
All
of these calculations and worksheets, in various forms, can be found on the
internet. Try any of the mutual fund web pages. One very popular worksheet can be found at
www.vanguard.com.
You can also find retirement calculators at most stock brokerage web pages. I’ve
also programmed a computer program for Lotus that will help you make these
calculations. If you need a copy, email or write and I’ll send you one but
it’s harder to use than the internet versions.
There’s
also a great “Ballpark Worksheet” at
www.asec.org
Another great source for retirement calculations and review is www.financialengines.com. This site will let you subscribe for three months but the calculators actually will analyze your current investments and their chance for success in meeting your retirement goals. Subscription rate may apply.
Another
source is www.morningstar.com . See our Links page for a lot of material and also the
Tips, Tricks and Sources page in this booklet.
