IRS is looking at the church because the church assumes that what
"we" did yesterday is okay today! We need to KNOW and FOLLOW
the rules!
These subjects are typically covered in a seminar for a
multi-church session. You should also check out the slide
shows

is
imperative that you read, each year, some form of taxation review for
ministers. For Southern Baptists, go to the Annuity Board and ask for
the minister's tax guide. You can actually download a version. Here's
the link for the 2006 edition.

Another FABULOUS resource:
Worth's Income Tax Guide for Ministers.
Written by
B. J. Worth who has been writing and updating this guide since 1973.
This is an awesome collection of information concerning all tax issues
for the clergy and lay church employees. Published in 2006 by Evangel
Publishing House 800- 253-9315 . I know it's also available from Amazon.
Well worth whatever it costs!
This is the book I use for researching something I'm not sure of---You
know us CPA types, we know it all, we're just not sure of it all--so we
have to research, to prove we were right. We're also never wrong!
Guaranteeeed....Just ask my wife!!

I can't emphasize enough " You must keep up with
current laws and taxes affecting your church and your ministry." The
best way I know how to do this is too subscribe to Church Tax and Law
Report.
No! I don't get any commissions from this publication. It's just
a fact of life that for $39.00 a year, you and your church could save thousands
of dollars--GOOD STEWARDSHIP ISN'T IT?

Social Security Administration: The SSA has recently
opened an online retirement planner that you can use to estimate your future SS
benefits. It's Kinda Kool! (Don't holler about my speeellin! I figure that all
words that start with a C should really start with a K) It kan't be totally
accurate but you know if you start your retirement plans today you must use a
lot of future guesses (assumptions) anyway so having a GUESS on what your future
SS benefits will be can't hurt. You have started your retirement plan? Haven't
you? You better! Forget college funds for the kids, start your retirement plan
first!
